Grow in Faith

Small Groups are a meaningful way to grow in faith in community.  They are spaces of love and trust, where folks can explore their faith and questions, and grow closer to God and to one another.  Currently, Small Groups are offered throughout the week–morning, afternoon and evening.  Our small groups each have their own flavor and cover a range of discussion topics.

If you would like to learn more, are interested in joining a small group or would like to lead a small group, please contact the church office or Pastor Kathy.

Our small groups include:

Mom’s Prayerful Meditation Circle Sunday Mornings meets online before church at 8:15 a.m. A short devotional is read, we meditate for 20 to 25 minutes, and end time together with an optional fellowship time.  Contact Jackie or the church office for more information or to receive the Zoom Room link.

  • Asbury’s Mom’s Prayerful Meditation Circle is going on a virtual field trip to Pema Chodron’s Online Weekend Retreat we welcome you to join us. More details to come of Asbury’s group offerings during the May 27th weekend retreat. Link to event details and registration.  Pema has been married twice, has children, grandchildren, and became the first western female to become a fully ordained Tibetan Buddhist Nun. Her teachings relate to growing our social and emotional skills compassionately so we may be in community with one another the way Jesus taught.

Sunday afternoon –a small group led by Pastor Kathy and Rita Ann Hart meets on zoom.  Reflection questions pertaining to the Sunday morning scripture and sermon on the basis for discussion.  All are welcome, a great group for newcomers to try. No homework in this group, just come and join the discussion.  Please contact the church office or Pastor Kathy for the zoom link.

Anti-Racism Ministry meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month 7:00 p.m. -8:15 p.m. on zoom.  New people are always welcome. This group uses a variety of resources–videos, books, articles, etc. to help participants on their journey in becoming anti-racist. Men’s Small Group – Meets Thursday mornings at 7:45 a.m. via video conferencing.  There is no homework.  Contact Art Molvik or the church office if you’re interested in joining this group and to get the Zoom link. Newcomers are always welcome

Young Adult Bible Study – meets twice a month on Thursday nights in Brad’s apartment from 6:30-8:00 p.m. A variety of approaches are used. Contact Brad Biggerstaff or the church office for more information.

Caregivers Support Group  meets the third Saturday  at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom – Anyone in a caregiving role is welcome.  It is so important to not go through the caregiving task alone and to spend some time with people who understand the joys and challenges of caregiving. This is a time for sharing and prayer. Consider joining us for even a single session. Craft and Chat meets Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. No crafting required, you can just log in to chat, craft, knit or whatever. Please contact Martie Muldoon or the church office to learn more about this
