Study Groups

Grow in Faith

Small Groups are a meaningful way to grow in faith in community.  They are spaces of love and trust, where folks can explore their faith and questions, and grow closer to God and to one another.  Currently Small Groups are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday nights, and Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.  Our small groups each have their own flavor and cover a range of discussion topics.

If you would like to learn more or are interested in joining a small group, please contact Pastor Chelsea at [email protected] or (925) 447-1950 ext 101.

Some of the groups include these below.  Please contact Pastor Chelsea to find out about other groups!

The Men’s Study Group is currently on summer recess. On September 26, 2019, we will resume studying “Great Figures of the New Testament,” taught by Amy-Jill Levine, a professor at Vanderbilt University Divinity School.  She is animated and brings a wide range of information to bear on interpreting the Bible. The purpose of the group is for spiritual growth through open discussions based on the topics suggested by the study. The group provides a comfortable, non-judgmental environment to discuss a broad range of issues with other men to strengthen our faith and live fruitful lives.

The group meets every Thursday morning from 7:45-8:45 a.m. in room 11/12. The time shifts occasionally to match schedules of participants or potential participants. Contact Art Molvik or the church office at (925) 447-1950 for more information.

Women of the Spirit is open, but the size of the group is limited to 12.

The group meets Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in members’ homes. Contact Joanne Abey for more information and for the meeting place.

Loose Canons is not a formal study, but rather we read whatever strikes our fancy. We are a weekly gathering of women studying scripture and scripture related books, led by Dr. Margie Brown, a noted Biblical Storyteller.  New people and insights are always welcome!

The group meets Tuesdays from 12:30-2:30pm in room 10.  Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m. at Evelynne Schwartz’s home. Contact Evelynne Schwartz or the church office for more information.

Heritage Estates Bible Study is a Christian Bible study that meets each week. The group likes to sing a little, study the Bible and pray together. There is no required homework and people can join us at any time. Everyone is welcome. The study is led by Nancy Deis. For more information, please contact the church office at 925-447-1950.

The group meets Thursdays from 10–11:00 a.m. in the second floor activity room at Heritage Estates, 900 East Stanley Boulevard, Livermore
