General Sunday School Information

*please note Sunday School classrooms are currently closed due to COVID-19, please see information above for current offerings

Worship service begins as a community together, for all ages, at 10:00am in the Sanctuary. Following the Children’s Moment and the Passing of the Peace, children are walked to their Sunday School classroom(s). Our Children’s Sunday School program is designed for children ages four through fifth grade. Pre-K through 1st grade children are signed in and out of their classroom by an accompanying adult. We use Bible-centered curriculum which studies the Old and New Testaments. Curriculum series we explore together include: ‘A Joyful Path’, ‘An Illustrated Compassion: Learning to Love Like God’, ‘An Illustrated Earth: Celebrating God’s Creation’, ‘An Illustrated Invitation: Joining God at Work in the World’, ‘The Lord’s Prayer an Illustrated Curriculum’, ‘Travel Guide to the Parables’ and ‘Travel Guide to Fruit of the Spirit’ and meeting a new person in a story Bible each week. Every school year we learn about stewardship and raise money for organizations like Open Heart Kitchen, Fertile Groundworks, UMCOR, The Taylor Foundation, Alameda County Food Bank, Partners for Change, Habitat for Humanity, Tri-Valley Haven, the Backpack Project, and participate in an age appropriate hands on service projects like working in the Fertile Groundworks Garden, packing food at a Rise Against Hunger Event, painting play houses for Habitat for Humanity, putting together boxes for Open Heart Kitchen and packing backpacks for the Backpack Project.  We are passionate about providing a loving, accepting, and caring environment for the children of our community and their families as they connect to the presence of God. Our focus is to be centered in Jesus Christ, grow in our faith together, as we celebrate community, and serve each other with love.
