Our Easter Offering speaks directly to bringing hope to others. Join us as we focus on the gift of mobility – purchasing wheelchairs for people who are physically disabled. It is estimated that over 100 million people worldwide need a wheelchair, but cannot afford one.
Partnering with the Wheelchair Foundation, we will bring independence and dignity to those who have been deprived of mobility by war, disease, accident, natural disaster or advanced age.
Those receiving a wheelchair and their families have their lives changed instantly. They will be able to go to school, to work, to worship, or in some cases, just outside for the first time in years, or ever.
Teamed with San Ramon Valley UMC in Alamo and Lynnewood UMC in Pleasanton, our goal is 100 new wheelchairs at $150 each.
At Asbury, each offering contribution will be matched dollar for dollar by a challenge grant available to our church. Any amount is appreciated and will be matched. And, for each donation of $150 or more, the donor will receive a photo of their wheelchair recipient.
