Asbury in the Newspaper: Playhouse Build

On Saturday September 12, kids of all ages gathered in the Asbury courtyard to build playhouses. Playhouse builds are a Habitat for Humanity project, where Habitat supplies materials and instructions, volunteers put the playhouses together, and then donate them. (Our two playhouses will go the shelters run by TriValley Haven.) Read the newspaper article that ran in Contra Costa Times and featured insightful quotes by our very own Barbara David and Bob Hoffman:

P.S. We pay Habitat for the materials and supplies, and we still are collecting money to cover those expenses. To donate, make checks to Asbury UMC, with “Habitat playhouse build” in memo line.
