Love is inclusive: An evening with Rev. Hutchinson

A young, gay pastor at a Methodist church in Michigan was confronted by church officials and asked if he had a partner. Rev. Hutchison said he would never deny it. He was told to resign or be fired. He resigned and Methodists and reconciling congregations are rallying to support this courageous pastor. Twin Towers UMC invited him to speak. He accepted. A few days after he resigned, Benjamin and his partner were married. Nine UMC pastors officiated, and a week later folks from his church posted notes on the Bishop’s office door condemning the bishop’s actions. This is reminiscent of the 95 theses Luther posted that started the Reformation. If you want to support Rev. Hutchison and be part of change in The United Methodist Church, you are invited to attend:
Friday, September 18, 6-7:30 p.m.
Twin Towers UMC
1411 Oak Street, Alameda
Doors open 5:45 p.m.
This event is free and the public is invited
