Shower Ministry
Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 12-4 p.m., the Shower Ministry at Asbury serves between 15-20 people. We have several showers available for both men and women in the church fellowship hall.
The City of Livermore partners with us and pays the salaries of the laundry staff. We offer clean underwear and socks each week, and shower and laundry supplies as needed.

We accept monetary donations as well as shower supplies such as body wash, shampoo, towels, socks, and underwear. All donations are helpful and appreciated, but our current needs are: men’s white t-shirts, new boxer shorts, and white tube socks. Your donations go a long way in making a person feel clean and comfortable. Donations may be dropped off at the church office during business hours.
Laundry Ministry
Added in 2015, Asbury now offers our unsheltered and low income clients the means to wash and dry clothes. A joint effort with the Unitarian Universalist Church in Livermore, we built a facility devoted to this ministry. The laundry operates every week during the same hours as the Shower Ministry. It is such a great thing to offer someone a way to get clean clothes when they might not have a way to do so otherwise.
Our clients do their own laundry. We provide the washers, dryers and the supplies. Donations of laundry detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets are welcome, as are volunteers.
