Backpack Project Success: Thanks you Asbury!

We’re happy to announce that Asbury’s 2015 commitment for 100 middle/high-school backpacks has been fully funded through the Special Offering from our congregation. Thank you very much for your generosity.

Now consider joining us when the backpacks will be distributed the morning of Saturday, August 15th.  Members of the congregation over 18 years of age are invited to help with the distribution.  Contact Larry Suter or Mitchie McCammon for more details.

Livermore’s Interfaith Backpack Project is now in its third decade of providing school backpacks filled with educational supplies to children from families who are unable to afford many of the expenses that come with starting school. The recipients are chosen based on teacher recommendations and recommendations from other individuals, such as pastors. Asbury, a founding member of this project, is now one of 13 congregations that distribute over 800 backpacks each year to Livermore school children.
